TeksoutH AND CRIS
Teksouth has provided conceptual design and architectural implementation to the present operation of CRIS for over 5 years. We have an in-depth understanding of CRIS technical architecture and a solid performance history.
CRIS Performance
The Commanders' Resource Integration System (CRIS) has provided Air Force financial analysts and decision makers a powerful end-to-end business intelligence solution for the past five years. Growth has been nothing short of phenomenal, from just a few hundred users initially to more than 13,000 today. The system's performance has been remarkable, sustaining a level of response time despite astounding growth in users and queries submitted. The system has performed particularly well under heavy surge usage.
Growth and Performance: ’04 vs. ’05 Snapshot
- In FY 2005 CRIS experienced growth in all areas: users (+33%), number of queries (+83%), and closeout surge – queries in the final month of the year (+66%).
- Speed of response to users improved under these conditions (+20%).
- Refresh systems worked well and were critical to performance.
Performance Summary
- CRIS usage at the end of fiscal year 2005 is already as high as it was predicted to be at the end of fiscal year 2006.
- During fiscal year 2005 CRIS served more than 13,000 active users (33% more than 2004).
- During fiscal year 2005 CRIS executed more than 6 million queries (83% more than 2004).
- During the month of September 2005 (year-end closeout) CRIS executed 1,011,151 queries (66% more than last September).
- During the last day in fiscal year 2005 CRIS executed 105,408 queries (58% more than the same day last September). This was by far the busiest day in CRIS history and the average response time was 9 seconds.
Even with the increase in usage, queries ran an average of 20% faster in fiscal year 2005 than the previous year.
